A must watch! You will be hooked…And, if you are a stay-at-home mom (or dad), and the kids are jumping off the walls, watch this and chuckle!!
You will thank me, and my dear friend Pat, later….
While we were sitting at the dinner table coloring eggs with the kids we began to discuss what Easter is really about. I was quite amazed that our 6 year old knows exactly why. He already knows quite a bit about the Bible. It is so easy to get all caught up in the Egg Hunts, and bunnies that we forget why we are celebrating.
Easter is the principal feast of the ecclesiastical year, commemorating the slaying of the true Lamb of God, the resurrection of Christ, the foundation stone on which the Christian faith is built, and the birth of the Christian Church.
Easter is the link between the Old and New Testament, the connection between the Jewish Passover and the Christian Eucharistic worship.
Why do we celebrate Easter?
Easter Sunday is the day of rejoicing that follows the sorrow of Good Friday and Holy Saturday. For most Christians, Easter is the celebration of Christ’s resurrection from the dead. It bears witness to God’s enduring promise of eternal life. As the climax of Holy Week, Easter is a time of hope and assurance. It is humanity’s turning point from destruction to glory and salvation. It is the celebration of the rising of Christ to Heaven. Easter is about being called to a greater purpose. It is about having a relationship with God, through Jesus, his son.
So, the question is, who or what are you glorifying on Easter?
