We would like to make and Announcement~
Its not what you think….we are not pregnant (however, I wouldn’t mind)…

As we were running errands today we noticed something. For those of you that don’t live in Idaho, the growth around here has been great! Near our house, they just opened a Gordman’s and a Big Al’s. They are also building many many new shopping centers. It was just the kids and I in the car, and in my speaking out loud voice, I said, I wonder what is going in all these places. I hope something cool. Andrew screams CHICK-FIL-A…I looked around and said oh Andrew that’s cute, and he said, no momma really. I thought I was going to wreck. I have to get past the point that he is now starting to read and can actually make out signs for stores etc. Isn’t 5 such a wonderful age. OK, back to the story…I lost my spit, yeah literally, spit out the nose. I could not be more excited. We have been spending the last month wishing there was a chick-fil-a near us. The only one is in Boise, though not far from us, it is on campus.
Now, let me share a little about why this is so cool. When Will and I re-married, we attended Saturday night church sessions in Colorado. After church we would have dinner at Chick-fil-A…It was our routine! It was always clean, the kids enjoyed their food, I love their salads, they play Christian music, and they always answered every question with…”MY PLEASURE”..Now, giving all the issues over their owner’s stance lately you would think that people would be happier if they were playing hard rock, maybe rap, and telling you to shove it when you order. They are nice, they dont treat anyone differently. The owner has his opinion based on his beliefs. He also operates a successful business.
And now, I have to share what happened after we passed by the new, about to be completed Chick-fil-a. Andrew asked me why they are no longer carrying the Bernstein Bears books. Everyone knows that as our children get older, they start to understand our adult conversations. Last night I was reading to Will about how the Muppet’s will no longer partner with chick-fil-a, and that they are encouraging the Bernstein Bears to do the same. In response to Andrew I said…Andrew, the owners of chick-fil-a stated their Christian beliefs as being based on the Bible. I then proceeded to say that there are people that think it is wrong for them to believe what they believe. Some say it is hate. And then it happened, Andrew said, momma, I want you to know that I like chick-fil-a, and I believe in Jesus and so does Haydon, and Tech (our fish) and Bryce (our BuildABear). He said, and momma, why are people being mean to him because he loves God? At that point I realized how important it is for me to continue reading the Bible with Andrew. I also realized how important it is for us to pray for Dan Cathy. This cant be easy on him and his family. I also realize that we need to pray for all those that don’t have God in their lives. And by God, I don’t mean they go to church. I mean they focus on God, and they practice by getting involved in helping others, and they want others to see God through them and be encouraged to live a life that is pleasing to God. I love you son, and, I pray that you will stand up for what you believe in, but you will do so with integrity, respect and love…
I love everyone reading this. No matter who you are.
“But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.” (1 Samuel 30:6, NASB)
Blessings,
